How can we create a visual representation of a state of being was the question I asked myself. The two states I aimed to illustrate were “acceptance” (image 1) and “awareness” (image 2). When conceptualizing “acceptance”, I envisioned the give and take of energy in the form of light and color. I imagined the idea that we first perceive stimuli, then internalize and process followed by, transcendence of our conditioned judgment and lastly, emit an energy that absorbs into the world around us. “Awareness”, I envisioned energy receptors more like tentacles – constantly undulating and receiving stimuli. The stimuli reaches the “tentacles” at varying points and travels inward to a central place to be processed.
